WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A Hershey man is dead from drowning after his paddle boat capsizes on the lake at Gifford Pinchot State Park. It happened Thursday morning at the park in Warrington Township.

According to York County Coroner Pam Gay, 58 year old Kevin Eric Breckenmaker became entangled in his paddle boat, called a sculler, after it capsized. Other people did not notice he was in trouble until too late. He was discovered by park personnel at about 10:45 am.

Breckenmaker was pulled from the water and rushed to York Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:10 pm. His cause of death is listed as freshwater drowning. There will be no autopsy. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is investigating the accident.
