QUARRYVILLE, Pa.- Sean White was playing at his friend's house, across the street from his own home, on Saturday afternoon. His parents say they normally help him across the street, but he knows how to look both ways.

He must have been ready to come home and felt it was safe to cross. He was on his bike and got hit by a truck on North Lime Street.  He was able to get up and ran into his house.

"I just said I got ranned over by a truck," White said to his parents.

"I didn't know what to think because you don't expect to hear something like that," said his mom, Shawn Rohrer.

Rohrer says she ran outside and could see a skid mark on the road. Police confirm it was a hit and run crash. A witness saw the accident. The suspect was found about ten minutes later. Due to this being an ongoing investigation police are not releasing his name.

White's family called police. The fire department and an ambulance responded. Sean has a bump on his head, scratches on his knees and elbows and says his ankle is sore. They took him to the hospital; he did not have any serious injuries.

"He was very lucky. Very lucky," said Rohrer. She adds she was up all night just holding him.

Sean now knows never to cross the street alone. Still, his mom wants drivers to slow down. She says in 18 months she’s seen nine crashes in front of their house. It is especially dangerous at the intersection in town. With school starting soon, she wants drivers to get the message. The kids' bus stop is on the main road.

"It's 25 through it and you can hear it, you can see it. They fly through here," she said.

Police say more information may be available on Monday.
