Highspire man receives 10-20 year sentenced for attempted homicide of wife

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Clark Huff pleaded “no contest” to criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person in exchange for a sentence of 10-20 years in a state correctional institution.  The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on January 20, 2015.  Huff and his estranged wife attended a counseling session to discuss their impending divorce. The session did not the way Huff wanted and he left  early.  When the victim left the session,  Huff met up with her and a verbal altercation ensued. Huff threatening to kill her and himself.  His wife became scared for her well being and attempted to leave. Huff attempted to block her with his body but she was able to get into her vehicle and leave.  Huff began to follow the victim in his car down Front Street, weaving around traffic, until catching up with the victim’s vehicle and ramming her car several times causing both vehicles to crash.  The victim did suffer injuries.  Several bystanders ran to provide assistance to the parties at which time Huff again told them that he was attempting to kill his wife and kill himself.

At sentencing, the victim stated that she still lives in fear that Huff will attempt to kill her again after this incident.  In addition to the 10-20 years in state prison, he received a consecutive 5 year probation sentence for a revocation on a 2009 child sexual assault docket.

This case was investigated by Officers Erik Henry, Kenny Young, Chris Silvio from Harrisburg Bureau of Police and Officer Jeremy Barrick from Swatara Township Police Department.  The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Codi Tucker who praised the “excellent police work in this case.”
