MIDDLESEX TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A Pennsylvania Army National Guard helicopter was forced to make a precautionary landing Friday morning in Middlesex Township after a mechanical problem arose, according to Tech. Sgt. Ted Nichols with Fort Indiantown Gap.
The UH-60 Black Hawk was returning to Fort Indiantown Gap after a 2 ½ hour training mission when the crew began experiencing a minor mechanical issue, Sgt. Nichols said. The crew landed in a field along the 7000 block of Wertzville Road.
Two pilots and one crew member were aboard the helicopter. No injures were reported.
A maintenance team from Fort Indiantown Gap is headed to the scene.
