HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Franklin County man is charged with distributing and possessing child pornography after an investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

Alden Shallcross Clark, 28, of 5285 Applecross Ave., Unit 1, Chambersburg, is charged with 16 counts of possession of child pornography and one count each of distribution of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

The Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section and the West York Borough Police Department conducted an online investigation of Clark.

During the investigation, a computer was identified as a potential download source for files of investigative interest. The IP address associated with the computer was linked to Clark’s residence.

Agents with the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section on Friday executed a search warrant at Clark’s residence and located a computer. A preliminary review of the computer by forensic investigators uncovered numerous files indicative of child pornography.

He is confined to the Franklin County Prison after failing to post $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Feb. 2.

Attorney General Kane thanked the West York Borough Police Department for its assistance with the investigation.

Clark will be prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Christopher Jones of the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
