CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. – The Cumberland County Coroner has been called to the scene of an accident involving multiple vehicles with ejection on Interstate 81 at milepost 64, in East Pennsboro Township. It happened at about 2:30 pm.
A southbound vehicle driven by a 19 year old female, for unknown reasons crossed over several lanes, through the median and struck a northbound pickup. The woman was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the pickup was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
Traffic movement is restricted to the right lanes in both directions until further notice. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call PSP Harrisburg at (717) 671-7500.
