MANHEIM, Pa. — A former employee at Manheim Central High School is charged with stealing money from a teacher and a student earlier this year.

Christopher Fitzgerald, a non-faculty employee at the time of the thefts, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of theft.

Manheim police Detective Ryan Yarnell filed charges Wednesday. Fitzgerald, 28, of Lititz, will be mailed a summons to appear in court and face the charges.

The thefts, on Jan. 13 and 22, happened in classrooms at the high school, at 400 Adele Avenue.

On Jan. 13, Fitzgerald stole $50 from a purse; on Jan. 22, he took $20 from a room. Surveillance footage showed Fitzgerald entering the rooms at the time of the thefts.

The thefts were reported to police when the money was discovered missing.

In a police interview, Fitzgerald admitted to stealing the money.
