Carlisle, Pa. - Officials from the United States Army barracks in Carlisle came together today to recognize about 400 volunteers who have dedicated their time to various organizations. Those volunteers, who helped organizations like the Army Heritage and Education Center and Army Community Services, were honored at a luncheon at the Letort View Community Center. The army volunteer coordinator says she's grateful for all the help from volunteers.

"We have a large number of retirees, but all ages volunteer at the Army Heritage and Education Center," said Jacqueline Chicchi, army volunteer coordinator.  "They all are able to complete missions and things that we might not be able to fund through regular tax dollars and they are always willing to lend a hand."

The installation was also presented with a check that represents the money saved by volunteers over the past year.
