Lancaster, Pa. - Officials in Lancaster County will be filling out a lot of paperwork relating to snow costs. The massive snow storm that buried Central Pennsylvania in January cost a lot of money to clean up.

Today, representatives from FEMA and PEMA helped walk Lancaster municipalities through the paperwork needed to receive federal aid. Last month, President Obama released FEMA funds to the commonwealth. The available funds can recoup up to 75% of the area's clean-up costs.

"In the aftermath of the storm, we did an estimate with the help of the municipalities, and in a 48 hour period, they spent about $2.25 million total," said Randall Gockley, Director of Emergency Manager for Lancaster County. "This process and these meetings will allow them to recover about $1.8 to $2 million total for the county."

This is the fourth time in the last 30 years that Lancaster County has bee designated for federal assistance because of some sort of snow storm.
