ELLIOTSBURG, Pa. - The West Perry School District has a deficit of $3.1 million dollars. For their 2016-2017 budget they anticipate having to cut 22 teaching positions. At a school board meeting, on Monday night, the superintendent explained to an audience of about 80 people that now it is about "what's the best bad choice we can make?"
The proposed budget cuts include 4 elementary teachers, 10 middle school and 8 high school. The budget will be available on their website and a decision will be made in June. The next meeting is May 23.
