WORMLEYSBURG, Pa.– The wait was worth it for thousand of folks in Cumberland County on Sunday. Their mouths watered as they stood in line for the 44th Annual Capitol Region Greek Festival. From gyros to souvlaki, baklava and pastitsio, dozens of authentic Greek dishes were on the menu. It’s held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church near Camp Hill and people come back year after year.

“Every year, the community has really sponsored us and really we’ve exceeded all of our expectations, even with the weather the way it was this weekend. It’s a fun time for families, so that’s what the Greek Festival is, it’s an event that we want everybody to enjoy,” said festival co-chairman Dimitri Zozos.

Greek dances were also performed at the festival. A portion of the proceeds will be used to help the needy in our area.
