LITTLESTOWN, Pa- Police are investigating a possible murder suicide in Littlestown, Adams County.
According to investigators, around 4 a.m. Sunday, a domestic situation started at a home along James Avenue. Police say a man shot his wife and 9-year old daughter and then turned the gun on himself. The mother is currently in stable condition at York Hospital. The father and little girl died at the scene.
"It's very hard especially with a child involved that had nothing probably to do with it. It was an innocent child," said Adams County Coroner, Francis Dutrow.
The names of the three involved are being withheld until other family members are notified and autopsies are completed at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
"It's horrible. It's unnerving. It's uncomfortable. I feel terrible for the family. (I) Wish that if there was something I could have done," said neighbor, Deborah Berger.
The Littlestown Police Department is investigating, with help from State Police and the Adams County Coroner's office.
