Alligator Snatches 2-Year-Old Boy From Lake At Disney Resort

The 2-year-old boy who was grabbed by an alligator and dragged into a lagoon at a Walt Disney World hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, died due to drowning and traumatic injuries, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office said Thursday. Lane Graves, who was on vacation with his family from Nebraska, was found Wednesday in the water not far from where he was attacked the previous night.

Walt Disney World is reviewing the placement and wording of signs after an alligator dragged Graves underwater in a lagoon near a hotel at Walt Disney World, the company said in a statement Thursday.

“All of our beaches are currently closed, and we are conducting a swift and thorough review of all of our processes and protocols. This includes the number, placement and wording of our signage and warnings,” Walt Disney World Resort Vice President Jacquee Wahler said.
