MENDON, Mass. — Disturbing video circulating on Facebook purportedly shows a Dunkin’ Donuts employee at a Massachusetts restaurant dropping a tray of donuts on the tile floor, then putting them back on the rack for sale.

The nauseating footage, originally recorded in November of 2015, went viral on social media after a former employee, college student Liam Flaherty, recently posted it on his account, according to ABC News.

“Here’s the manager at Dunkin Donuts in Mendon dropping an entire tray of fresh donuts on the disease ridden ground and trying to hide them so she could still serve them!! AND SHE DID SERVE THEM,” Flaherty wrote.

Flaherty claims he quit working at the Mendon store after management and the owner declined to take any action after he brought the issue to their attention.

“People ate those donuts that fell and touched the ground,” he told ABC News. “And she was just OK with that.”

The employee in the video has not been publicly identified, and calls to the restaurant were not recalled.

Dunkin’ Donuts issued the following statement about the incident:

“We are aware of the video and we take matters like this very seriously. The actions seen in the video at a franchised Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant are absolutely inconsistent with our strict food safety standards and requirements. According to the franchisee, upon hearing of this incident in November 2015, he investigated the matter and met with the employee to discuss the fact that the donuts should have been immediately disposed of in keeping with our standards.”
