LANCASTER, Pa.–Investigators are crediting a citizens tip with helping them locate and arrest a 26-year-old man suspected in a stabbing in Lancaster city on Sunday.

Jonathan J. Cameron was arrested Monday during a traffic stop along the first block of East Vine Street. Police received a tip, soon after an arrest warrant was issued, that Cameron was going to be in a vehicle in the southwest area of Lancaster City.

Police established surveillance and spotted a vehicle matching the description of the tip.  The driver committed a traffic violation and when police stopped the vehicle they discovered Cameron was a passenger in the vehicle.  He was arrested and taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.

Cameron is charged with criminal attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

According to police, Cameron stabbed the victim on Sunday near the intersection of Lenox Lane and East Grant Street. The victim suffered cuts to his face and a stab wound to his torso. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
