EPHRATA, Pa- Police in Ephrata are investigating after received reports of a horse being beaten.
The person who took these pictures alleges on social media that she witnessed the horse being kicked and beaten to the point that it collapsed. The horse was allegedly pulling a wagon full of watermelon and two Amish men.
Police say they are actively investigating the situation.
The report was made in a timely manner and the investigation began at that time. Officers conducted interviews and follow-up interviews – and will conduct more.
As a criminal justice agency, it is imperative that we sort out fact from fiction, and truth from hyperbole before taking action against a citizen. We must collect evidence and information. In many cases, this solemn process takes time.
