HARRISBURG, Pa.– The Harrisburg Bureau of Police has issued a name correction in regards to the Saturday afternoon homicide on Jefferson Street.

Police now say the name of the suspect is Douglas Samuels, 66. An initial press released identified the suspect as Douglas Smith.

Samuels is accused of shooting and killing 51-year old Freddie Stewart around 3:00 Saturday afternoon. Stewart was found in the backseat of a car on the 2100-block of Jefferson Street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Samuels is facing Criminal Homicide charges. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call police at (717) 558-6900 and ask for a detective or supervisor.
