UPPER ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pa.– Police have arrested a man after a hit-and-run incident in which he struck a five-year-old girl.

Bill Stine, 44, of Lemoyne, is facing charges of careless driving and an accident involving death or personal injury duty to give information and render aid.

On September 21 at approximately 2:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Granada Lane for a traffic accident.

Upon arrival, police found that a vehicle had struck a five-year-old girl and then fled the scene.

The girl was walking with other children and was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by the car. A witness told police that they saw the car traveling at a high rate of speed on the road.

Police were able to identify Stine as the driver of the vehicle. While he acknowledged being at the scene, Stine claimed that he did not know he hit a child.

Now, Stine will face his charges in court.
