LANCASTER, Pa. — Conestoga Valley senior Gianna Yurchak has been named the 2016 Female State Player of the Year by the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association.

Throughout the course of her career at Conestoga Valley, Yurchak, a senior forward, has been recognized and awarded multiple times for her work on the field. This is the third time Yurchak has been named to the All-State Team, and she was also named to the All-America Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) this year. Additionally, she made the NSCAA’s All-East Region team twice, in 2015 and 2016.

In Yurchak’s freshman, junior and senior years she was selected for the Lancaster-Lebanon All-League team, and she has been named a Section One All-Star four years in a row. Additionally, this year Yurchak broke the Conestoga Valley record for most goals scored in a career. After graduation, Yurchak has committed to playing for the University of Buffalo.

“Gianna has been an absolutely incredible player during her time at Conestoga Valley,” said CV Athletic Director Zac Kraft. “This is a tremendous honor, and we are all so proud of her many accomplishments.”
