Americans are set to break records for the amounts of food that will be consumed over the July 4 holiday.

- 65.5% of Americans will attend a picnic on July 4
- $7.15 billion will be spent on food
- An average of 150 million hot dogs are consumed each July 4 weekend
- Last year, Joey Chestnut broke the record for most hot dogs consumed at the Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest with 70 in 10 minutes
- Americans drink more beer on July 4 than any other holiday
