COLUMBIA, Lancaster County, Pa. — UPDATE: Police used plastic and plywood to cover the sinkhole that is located on North Third Street and Linden Street.
They say the sinkhole formed when storm water drainage collapsed.
The sink hole is 14 feet deep, according to police.
Police say the city is looking for a contractor to repair it.
PREVIOUS: A sinkhole has opened in Columbia, according to the Columbia Borough Police Department.
The sinkhole is located on the southeast corner of North Third Street and Linden Street.
Police also said the sinkhole is very deep.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area. Traffic is being redirected to Second Street and Fourth Street.
