MANHEIM, Pa. — The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday announced that an East Earl Township woman was charged in connection to a fiery 2023 crash that killed two people in Penn Township.

Beth Fife, 51, is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and three summary traffic offenses following an investigation of the two-vehicle crash, which claimed the lives of 84-year-old Allen English and his daughter, Grace English-Rohrer, on December 1, 2023.

According to District Attorney Heather Adams, Fife was traveling westbound along West 28th Division Highway in Penn Township when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into English's vehicle, which was traveling in the eastbound lanes.

English and English-Rohrer died at the scene.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Fife was traveling nearly 40 mph above the posted speed limit when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic, striking English and English-Rohrer’s vehicle and causing it to catch fire, Adams said.

Fife is currently free on $300,000 unsecured bail.

Officer Alex Good of Northern Lancaster County Regional Police filed the charges.

Assistant District Attorney Caitlin Blazier will prosecute the case. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
