We'll call for a Weather Impact Alert day right away once there is confidence in disruptive weather in our area. It's another tool in our arsenal that focuses on the exact details you need to know. It includes everything from the what and when, to the actions you need to take to prepare for what's coming. It's a new tool with a different look, but it's the same commitment to keeping you informed and safe no matter what's ahead.
What kinds of conditions trigger a Weather Impact Alert Day?
FOX43 meteorologists will call for a Weather Impact Alert Day if conditions are dangerous to people, create a nuisance, or affect a large number of people.
Dangerous thunderstorms, tornadoes, snow and ice, flooding rain, dangerous temperatures, and other storms will cause FOX43 meteorologists to call a day a Weather Impact Alert Day.
Weather Impact Alert Days will also cover nuisance weather like dense fog, heavy rain, and wind or when less-than-ideal weather conditions are expected for big events or during commuting hours.
